Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the hood and the dust ejector. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Dust Ejector - Remove and Install".

Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.

1. Remove two bolts (1) and the washers.

2. Disconnect dust ejector hose (3) with adapter (2) from muffler (4) .

3. Remove eight bolts (6) and the eight washers.

4. Remove shield (5) .

5. Fasten a suitable lifting device and straps to Tooling (A), as shown.

6. Remove two bolts (8) and the two washers from the bottom side of support (7) .

7. Loosen nut (10) from clamp (9) .

8. Remove the muffler and clamp (9) from the exhaust pipe support. The weight of the muffler is 34 kg (75 lb).

1. Use Tooling (A), straps and a suitable lifting device to install the muffler.

2. Install the muffler and clamp (9) on the exhaust pipe support. The weight of the muffler is 34 kg (75 lb).

3. Tighten nut (10) on clamp (9) .

4. Install the washers and two bolts (8) to the muffler from the bottom side of support (7) .

5. Install shield (5) with the eight washers and eight bolts (6) .

6. Install adapter (2) and dust ejector hose (3) to muffler (4) .

7. Install the adapter and the dust ejector hose with two bolts (1) and the washers.

End By: Install the hood and the dust ejector. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood and Dust Ejector - Remove and Install".
