行车制动器空气控制阀是一个脚踏控制阀。 接合踏板时，将调节后的空气压力从行车制动器和减速器气罐输送至制动器空气继动阀。
来自行车制动器和减速器气罐的供气流入供气口 (2)。 踩下踏板时，排气口 (3) 闭合。 行车制动器控制阀允许空气从供气口 (2) 流经出气口 (1)。 踏板的位置允许阀调节流向制动器空气继动阀的出口压力。 松开踏板时，经排气口 (3) 排放出口压力。
