Start By:

  1. Detension the belt (release). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Belt - Detension and Tension" for the machine that is being serviced.

  2. Remove the side counterweight (side). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Counterweight (Idler) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.

  1. Install Tooling (E). Fasten the ends with strap (1).

  2. Remove two tie straps (2) from guard (3). Remove the cover from support assembly (hard bar) (5). Disconnect electrical connector (6).

  3. Remove eight bolts and washers (7) from rear drive wheel (8). Rotate the drive wheel. This will give you access to remaining seven bolts and washers (7).

  4. Remove six of the seven bolts and washers (7). Leave the top bolt in place at this time.

  5. Install Tooling (A) and Tooling (B).

  6. Remove 11 of the 12 bolts and washers (9). Leave the top left bolt in place.

  7. Install Tooling (C) in the top center bolt pattern.

  8. Use a lift truck to position Tooling (D). Secure using a chain (10). Install Tooling (D) in the rear mounting hole of undercarriage (11). Install a bolt through Tooling (D). Secure using a nut on the back side of undercarriage (11). Tighten four bolts (12). Position the head of bolt (13) under the reaction arm.

    Note: Do not tighten bolt (13) past initial contact on the reaction arm.

  9. Loosen bolts (7) and (9). Slowly lift undercarriage (11) in order to release any pressure on Tooling (A), (B) or (C) (not shown). Remove bolts and washers (7) and (9). Use Tooling (D) in order to remove undercarriage (11) from the machine. The weight of undercarriage (11) is 2631 kg (5800 lb).
