Swing Link - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Belt - Remove and Install".

  1. Support the inner half of front idler (1) with Tooling (A) (not shown) and attach to a suitable lifting device. Remove ten bolts and washers (2) and remove front idler (1) from front idler hub (2) .

  1. Remove the bolt and washer (4) . Remove the spacer from pin (5) . Rotate the flag on pin (5) upward.

  1. Attach Tooling (B) to front idler hub (6) . Attach Tooling (B) to a suitable lifting device. Remove pin (5) from the rod end of cylinder (7) . Lower swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) .

  1. Attach Tooling (C) to front idler hubs (3) and (6) . Attach the other end of Tooling (C) to a suitable lifting device.

  1. Loosen two locknuts (9) and two setscrews (10) on lever (11) .

  1. Use a suitable tool in order to drive pin (12) out of swing link (8) and lever (11) . Remove two spacers (13) .

  1. Remove swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) from the machine. The weight of swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) is 103 kg (227 lb).

  1. If necessary, remove two bearings (14) from swing link (8) .

Installation Procedure

  1. If necessary, Install two bearings (14) in the swing link.

  1. Install swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) . The weight of swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) is 103 kg (227 lb).

  1. Use a suitable tool in order to install pin (12) in swing link (8) and lever (11) . Install two spacers (13) .

  1. Tighten two locknuts (9) and two setscrews (10) on lever (11) . Remove Tooling (C) .

  1. Attach Tooling (B) to front idler hub (6) . Attach Tooling (B) to a suitable lifting device. Raise swing link (8) with front idler hubs (3) and (6) . Install pin (5) to the rod end of cylinder (7) .

  1. Rotate the flag on pin (5) downward. Install the spacer on pin (5) . Install the bolt and washer (4) .

  1. Install front idler (1) to front idler hub (2) . Attach ten bolts and washers (2) .

End By: Install the belt. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, "Belt - Remove and Install".
