(1) Required rotation of the bolt

    Illustration 9g00695112

  1. Tighten each bolt to an initial torque of 135 N·m (100 lb ft).

    Illustration 10g00695118

  2. Draw a line on the undercarriage that identifies the point on one of the flats on each bolt head.

    Illustration 11g00695130

  3. Draw a line on the socket.

  4. Identify the length of the bolt that is being tightened. Use table 2. Use the appropriate amount of required rotation in order to torque the bolt to 820 N·m (600 lb ft). Draw a second line in order to mark the rotation stopping point. Draw the line in order to be seen when the socket is placed over the bolt head.

  5. Place the socket on the bolt head so that the line that is on the socket matches the first line that was drawn on the undercarriage.

    Illustration 12g00695137

  6. Tighten each bolt until the line on the socket matches the second line on the undercarriage.

  7. Tighten as many of bolts (5) as possible to a torque of 820 N·m (600 lb ft). Rotate the rear drive wheel until the remaining bolts and washers can be installed and tightened.
