  1. Remove old gasket material from the mating face of ring gear (17) and center housing (8). Inspect two dowels (18) in the center housing.

  2. Apply 6V-6640 Sealant to the face of center housing (8). Install Tooling (C) in center housing (8).

  3. Use Tooling (B) in order to install the rear axle group on center housing (8). Install two of sixteen bolts (16) in axle housing (15). Remove Tooling (C) from center housing (8).

  4. Install twelve of remaining fourteen bolts (16) and remove Tooling (B) from the axle housing.

  5. Install the remaining two bolts (16). Tighten bolts (16) to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (200 ± 30 lb ft).

  6. Position right rear cab mount (12) with upper mount assembly (14) on axle housing (15). Install four bolts and washers (13) in right rear cab mount (12). Torque bolts (13) to 239 N·m (175 lb ft).

  7. Install the following components on right rear cab mount (12): nut (4), washers (9) and (10), lower mount assembly (11), right rear cab mounting bolt (5) and washer (7). Position a pry bar between cab (6) and washer (7) and pry up on cab (6). Remove Tooling (A). Remove the nut and the bolt from the frame rail and the center housing. Remove Tooling (A) from the left side of cab (6).

  8. Tighten right rear mounting bolt (5) and nut (4) to a torque of 200 N·m (150 lb ft). Repeat Steps 7 and 8 for the other side.

  9. Connect two electrical connectors (2) and (3) on the rear left side of the cab. Connect electrical connector (1) on the rear right side of the cab.

  10. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct oil and the correct filling procedure.

End By:

  1. Install the right side covers. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Covers - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.

  2. Install the right side undercarriage. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Undercarriage - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.
