Difficult Installation Of Upper Hook Sheave Block
Usage:
TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS561M (1KW1-UP) PIPELAYERS
Problem:
Pin (1) which attaches the upper hook sheave block may be too short. Once pin (1) is inserted through the block and the connecting link, the hole for retaining pin (2) my not be fully visible. The result will be difficult installation of retaining pin (2).
Solution:
The effective length of pin (1), part number 1K-3178, must be increased from dimension (A) of 133.35 mm (5.25 inch). Place pin (1) in a lathe and turn the face of the head in order to remove dimension (B), 1.25 mm (0.05 inch), from the head. This will allow room for the installation of pin (2) during assembly.
