Interference Between The Lower E-Stick Pad Retaining Bolt And The Rod End Tube Assembly

Usage:

BACKHOE LOADERS416C (4ZN1-238, 1WR1-850),
426C (1CR1-183, 1MR1-276, 6XN1-727, 1YR1-345),
436C (1FR1-221, 1PR1-310, 2AR1-226, 8TN1-303) BACKHOE LOADERS

Problem:

There is concern about interference between the 8T-4201 Bolt on the lower E-stick and the 9R-8466 Tube on the rod end. The interference may result in damage to the tube.

On the early C-Series Backhoe Loaders, two 8T-4121 Washers were used under the head of the 8T-4201 Bolt to improve the retention of the upper pad of the E-Stick. On some units, this allows the head of the bolt to contact the 9R-8466 tube Assembly at full extension of the stick.

Solution:

If interference occurs, remove one of the two 8T-4121 Washers to the 8T-4201 Bolt.

If interference still occurs, verify that the welded-in elbow on the rod end of the 6E-0404 Cylinder Group is in the correct position. When the cylinder is installed this elbow must point directly at the inside corner of the E-Stick extension
