Engine Accelerator Cable Rubbing Against Reservoir Caterpillar

Engine Accelerator Cable Rubbing Against Reservoir

Usage:

TELEHANDLERTH63 (3NN1-841, 5WM1-1672) TH82 (3JN1-593, 3KN1-422) TH83 (3RN1-1167) TELEHANDLER

Problem:

There have been reports of the engine accelerator cable rubbing against the bottom of the 036-1864 Reservoir used to recover coolant. If left undetected, this rubbing may wear through the reservoir causing the coolant to run out.

Solution:

The rubbing can be prevented by elevating the 083-1864 Reservoir. The steps are as follows.

1. Lift up 036-1864 Reservoir (1).
2. Bend the lowest part of the 036-1863 Bracket (2) up about 13 mm (.5 in). See Illustration 1.
3. Lower 036-1864 Reservoir (1).
4. Check to make sure that the accelerator cable clears the reservoir.

If the accelerator cable does not clear the 036-1864 Reservoir, use a 7K-1181 Cable Strap to secure the accelerator cable. Secure the accelerator cable so that the accelerator cable is not kinked or that its travel is not limited.
