New Bracket Assembly And Clamps In Water Lines Groups Provide Improved Tube Retention{1380}

Usage:

793C (4AR, 4GZ) Off-Highway Trucks;
994D (3TZ) Wheel Loaders

Description of Change: A new bracket assembly and related parts are used in the water lines groups on these machines. These new components provide improved support for the tube that connects the engine oil cooler bonnet to the power train oil cooler bonnet. Improved clamps are now used on the power train oil cooler end of the tube. The new components will provide improved retention for the tube, and will ensure proper seating of the O-ring seals at the tube ends.

Adaptable To: The new 172-0196 Bracket Assembly is used in the 121-5740 Water Lines Group on 793C Off-Highway Trucks and in the 137-8249 Water Lines Group on 994D Wheel Loaders. The 108-6170 Clamp Assemblies and related hardware are used to replace the retaining ring and retainers at the power train oil cooler end of the 129-9455 Tube. The new components are in effect with the 3516B Engines in the listed machines, as shown in Chart A. The new components are adaptable to all earlier 3516B Engines that are used in these machines. To update the earlier machines, remove the parts that are listed in Chart B and shown in Illustration 1. The new parts that are required to update the water lines groups are listed in Chart C and shown in Illustration 2.

NOTE: The 121-5740 and 137-8249 Water Lines Groups are not available for parts service at the group level. To update the lines groups, order the individual parts from Chart C.

NOTE: Inspect and, if necessary, replace the 6V-5066 O-Ring Seals at the ends of the 129-9455 Tube. It is not necessary to replace the 129-9455 Tube unless the tube has been damaged.
