Procedure For Converting Standard Controls To Finger Tip Controls {4343}

Usage:


572R (AAC, 2HZ) Pipelayers

With the finger tip control configuration, both the steering clutch and the brake operation may be controlled by the finger tip controls. Brake function and service brake function may also be controlled by the existing brake pedal configuration.

Conversion Procedure

1. Remove the floormat and the floorplate in the operator's compartment.

2. Remove four bolts (1) and unplug sensor plugs (2).

3. Tie the sensor wire receptacles up out of the way.

4. Lift and remove the steering control group out of the floorboard. Leave the floorplate removed.

5. Remove two sensors (3) and gearboxes (4) from the bottom of the steering control group.

6. Remove lever (5) from each gearbox and replace with 124-3702 Lever Assembly (6), as shown.

7. Remove plate (7) and two blocks (8) from the existing transmission control group. Save the bolts and washers.

8. Replace existing plug assembly (9) with a new 169-0459 Plug Assembly. Plug assembly (9) plugs into the receptacle with six black wires and one pink wire.

9. Replace existing plug assembly (10) with a new 165-1698 Plug Assembly. Plug assembly (10) plugs into the receptacle with three orange wires and three white wires.

10. Install new 126-2487 Plate (11) with the bolts that were removed from plate (7).

11. Install two sensors (3) and gearboxes (4) that were removed from the existing steering control group. Use the bolts and washers that were used to secure two blocks (8).

12. Remove the caps from existing receptacles (13) and plug sensor wires (12) into receptacles (13) that are located behind the panel for the parking brake switch. The left sensor plugs into the receptacle with blue, pink, and white wires. The right sensor plugs into the receptacle with the blue, pink, and orange wires. Place the caps on the receptacles below the floorplate.

13. Install wire clip (14), as shown. Make sure to apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the bolt prior to installation.


New 173-4655 Floormat.

14. Replace the floorplate and install a new 173-4655 Floormat.
