Identifying The Engine In A Backhoe Loader {1000,1001}

Usage:

416C (1WR, 1XR, 4ZN, 5YN),
426C (1CR, 1ER, 1MR, 1NR, 1YR, 1ZR, 6XN, 7WN),
428C (2CR, 8RN),
436C (1FR, 1GR, 1PR, 1RR, 2AR, 2BR, 8TN, 9JN),
438C (1JR, 1TR, 2DR, 9KN) Backhoe Loaders

The 3054 Engine installed in backhoe loaders can have different part numbers and power ratings. See Table 1.

The part number will correctly identify the engine, so that repair parts may be ordered and the proper maintenance performed. The machine's model number will not assist in correctly identifying the engine.

In addition, the machine's Product Identification Number or the engine's serial number may also create confusion.

To identify a specific engine, determine the part number. The part number for the engine is located at one of the following locations:

1. Located on the emissions compliance data plate (122-8803, 122-8804, 122-8805, or 122-8806 Engines only). The 106-5001, 106-5002, and 106-5003 do not have this label. See Illustration 1.
