Engine Derate Parameter On Electronic Technician And Vital Information Management System May Give False Value {7620}

Usage:

776D (5ER),
RM562 Tractors;
777D (3PR),
RM561, 777D (2YW),
RM592, 785C (1HW),
RM521, 785C (5AZ),
RM595, 789C (2BW),
RM522, 793C (4AR),
RM523, 793C (4GZ),
RM596 Off-Highway Trucks

The ADEM-II electronic engine control used in Off-Highway trucks generates a value that indicates the percentage that the engine may be derated. Under certain operational conditions, it is possible that the percentage derate parameter may indicate 100%. The reading of 100% is a communication error and is not accurate.

A false value of 100% may be generated any time that the engine is derated and the engine speed exceeds the normal high idle speed. When the engine speed returns below High Idle, the percentage derate will display a normal value.

The Vital Information Management System will display this parameter on the operator display, store the parameter in the data logger, and store the parameter in the event list.

The display error does not affect normal operation of the truck and does not affect the actual engine derate.

Effective With: 776D (5ER1-Up), 777D (3PR1-Up), 777D (2YW1-Up), 785C (5AZ1-Up), 789C (2BW1-Up), 793C (4AR1-Up), 793C (4GZ1-Up)
