Description of Change: A new multi-layer steel flywheel housing gasket will go into production on all 3408 and 3412 Machine Engines that are currently manufactured with a flywheel housing perforated steel core gasket. Machine engines that are currently being manufactured with an anaerobic seal will continue to be manufactured with the anaerobic flywheel housing seal. The new gasket will help prevent leaks between the flywheel housing and the cylinder block.
Adaptable To: On the 3408 Engines, the new 161-7294 Gasket-Cylinder Block (Multi-Layer) is a direct replacement for the 7N-9331 Gasket-Cylinder Block (Paper) and 109-4318 Gasket-Cylinder Block (Steel Core). On the 3412 Engines, the new 161-7293 Gasket-Cylinder Block (Multi-Layer) is a direct replacement for the 8N-1911Gasket-Cylinder Block (Paper) or 113-1474 Gasket-Cylinder Block (Steel Core).
