Usage:

All Caterpillar Machines Powered By Caterpillar Diesel Engines

Reference: Service Magazine; April 12, 1999; Page 14; "New Caterpillar High Efficiency Fuel Filters With STAY CLEAN VALVES(r) Replace All Standard Fuel Filters In February Of 1999"

The Reference Article introduced the Caterpillar High Efficiency Fuel Filters equipped with STAY CLEAN VALVES(r). The STAY CLEAN VALVES(r) are now made from a different material which results in improved durability. The new valve material is WHITE, while the former valve material was BLACK. The part numbers of the Caterpillar High Efficiency Fuel Filters with the new WHITE STAY CLEAN VALVES(r) have not changed. Use the chart as a cross reference for the new and former fuel filter part numbers.

The STAY CLEAN VALVES(r) will prevent unfiltered fuel, which may contain abrasive contaminants, from entering the clean side of the fuel filter. Unfiltered fuel may cause damage to the engine's fuel system. IT IS IMPORTANT TO PRIME, AND NOT PREFILL, REPLACEMENT FILTERS IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT FUEL SYSTEMS RECEIVE FILTERED FUEL ONLY.
