It is extremely important that the rear axle housing and final drive compartments be filled to the proper levels at all times.

NOTICE

Serious damage to components and shortened power train life can occur with the under filling of the rear axle housing and final drive compartments by as little as two inches.

Refer to the Operation & Maintenance Manuals for the proper fluid and fill procedure. Place the machine on a level surface prior to filling or checking the oil levels .

At room temperature, the transfer of oil from the rear axle housing to each final drive takes a considerable amount of time. Attempting to fill ONLY through the rear axle housing oil compartment is a typical example of how under filling can occur. Some bearing failures have been traced to the under filling of these oil compartments. The risk of under filling is much greater if oil is not added to each of the final drive compartments.

Proper bearing lubrication is essential. The rear axle housing must be filled through the rear axle housing fill cover. Each final drive must be filled through the properly positioned final drive fill plug.
