Three snow plow protection arrangements are available for the H-Series Motor Graders. The features include engine inlet air from within the engine compartment, air dryer being mounted inside the fan compartment, protection for the batteries, protection for tandem air lines, and covers for louvers to keep the snow out of the engine and fan compartments. The three snow plow protection arrangements and model applications are shown in Chart 1.
The following describes the function of the separate parts in the snow plow protection arrangements.
113-7062 and 113-8842 Plate - Double thickness battery covers. These plates provide better battery protection against broken tire chains.
113-9813 Enclosure Covers Group - This group has vinyl covers for the two louvered side doors, the louvered areas of the hood above the fan and another next to the exhaust stack. The studs for the snaps are installed at the factory.
111-4923, 111-4924 and 111-4925 Brake Lines Guard Group - Steel guards that cover the air lines on top of the tandem housing. These guards provide protection from broken tire chains.
123-4104 Air Cleaner Cover Assembly - Replaces the standard air cleaner cover assembly, eliminating pre-cleaner freezing problems.
128-4759 Plate - Provides a mount for relocating the air dryer inside the engine fan compartment, to protect from broken tire chains. The 128-4759 Plate is installed at the factory.
5S-7379 Bolt - Used to mount the 128-4759 Plate.
7N-4081 Boot - Covers the opening of the air cleaner housing when the precleaner is removed.
5P-3860 Hose Clamp - Holds the 7N-4081 Boot on the air cleaner housing.
When removing the pre-cleaner, remove the hoses and the pipe of the dust ejector group up to the opening in the exhaust stack. This opening can be left uncovered.
Be sure to install 6V-4611 Warning Film on each battery cover.
