Rocker Shaft Assembly

Usage:

Disassemble Rocker Shaft Assembly

start by:

a) remove rocker shaft assembly and push rods

1. Remove bolts (2) from brackets and fitting (5) from shaft.

2. Remove cotter pin (4), washers (7), springs (1), rocker arms (3) and brackets (6) from shaft.

3. Remove the bearings from rocker arms with tooling (A).

4. Remove the socket (8) from rocker arm with hammer and punch.

Assemble Rocker Shaft Assembly

1. Install socket in rocker arm with a press. Be sure mark on socket (2) is in alignment with oil hole (1) in end of rocker arm.

2. Install the button (4) and retaining ring (3) in socket.

3. Install bearing in rocker arm with tooling (A). Edge of bearing must be .030 in. (0.76 mm) below surface of rocker arm.

4. Install the rocker arms, brackets, springs and washers on shaft. Install rocker arms in following order intake (5), exhaust (6), intake (7), exhaust (8), intake (9), and exhaust (10).

end by:

a) install rocker shaft assembly and push rods
