Valve Guides

Usage:

Remove And Install Valve Guides

start by:

a) remove valves

1. Remove old guides with tool (A) as shown.

NOTE: The difference between intake and exhaust guides, of guides that have shoulders, is a chamfer on small diameter end of intake guide; also intake guide is shorter in length.

2. Install guides (1) having shoulders with tool (A) as shown.

NOTE: The difference between intake and exhaust guides, of guides that do not have shoulders, is a chamfer on small diameter end of exhaust guide; also exhaust guide is longer in length.

3. Install guides (2) that do not have shoulders with tool (A) and tool (B) as shown. Top of valve guide must be 1.750 ± .020 in. (44.45 ± 0.51 mm) or dimension (X) above top surface of cylinder head.

4. Valve guide diameter (3) after assembly must be .500 in. (12.70 mm).

5. Grind valve seat insert according to specifications given in SPECIFICATIONS SECTION.
