Start By:

a. install body retaining pin

1. Remove the four bolts that hold guard assembly (1) to the transmission, and remove the guard assembly.

2. Remove bolts (3) that fasten each end of drive shaft (2) to the transmission and torque converter, and remove the drive shaft.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the drive shaft.

3. Put drive shaft (2) in position between the transmission and torque converter.

4. Install bolts (3) that hold the drive shaft to the transmission and torque converter. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 135 ± 15 N·m (100 ± 11 lb ft).

5. Put guard assembly (1) in position on the transmission, and install the bolts that hold it in place.
