Usage:

Remove And Install Torque Converter Charging, Scavenge And Brake Retraction Pump

Start By:

a. install body retaining pins

1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank

2. Disconnect hoses (1), (2) and (4) from torque converter charging scavenge and brake retraction pump (5). Remove the O-ring seals from the hoses.

3. Remove tube (3) from the pump, and remove the O-ring seal from the tube.

4. Fasten a hoist and tool (A) to pump (5).

5. Remove the bolts that hold the pump to the torque converter. Install two 3/8 " - 16 NC forcing screws (6) in pump (5). Tighten the forcing screws evenly, and remove the pump and gasket. The weight of the torque converter charging, scavenge and brake retraction pump is 38 kg (84 lb).

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the torque converter charging, scavenge and brake retraction pump.

6. Fasten a hoist and tool (A) to torque converter charging, scavenge and brake retraction pump (5). Put the gasket and pump in position on the torque converter, and install the bolts that hold it.

7. Put the O-ring seal in position on tube (3), and install the tube on the pump.

8. Put the O-ring seals in position in hoses (2), (4) and (1), and connect the hoses to the pump.

9. Fill the hydraulic tank to the correct level. See the Operation And Maintenance Manual.

End By:

a. remove body retaining pins
