3. Remove seal (5) from cover assembly (3).

4. Remove O-ring seal (7) from cover assembly (3).

5. Use tool (A), and remove bearings (6) from the cover assembly.

6. Remove gears (8) and (9) from the gear assemblies.

7. Remove key (12) from gear assembly (10).

8. Remove body assembly (13).

9. If necessary, remove dowels (11) from the body assembly.

10. Remove O-ring seal (15) from body assembly (13).

11. Remove bearings (14) from the body assembly with tool (A).

12. Remove gear assemblies (10) and (16).

13. Remove body assembly (18). If necessary, remove dowels (17) from the body assembly.

14. Remove O-ring seal (21) from the manifold assembly (19).

15. Remove bearings (20) from the manifold assembly.

Assemble Transmission Charging Pump

1. Clean and inspect all parts. Replace any parts that are damaged or worn.

2. Put clean SAE 10W oil on the parts of the pump before assembly.

3. Install two bearings (4) in manifold assembly (1) with tool (A). Install the bearings with the joint 30 degrees ± 15 degrees toward outlet port (2) from the center line of the two bearings. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below the surface.

4. Check the diameter of bearings (4). The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± .008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.

5. Install O-ring seal (3) on the manifold assembly.

6. If dowels (8) were removed from the body assembly, install four dowels (8) in body assembly (7) until they extend 6.4 ± 0.5 mm (.25 ± .02 in) from the surfaces.

7. Put body assembly (7) in position on manifold assembly (1). Install gear assemblies (5) and (6) in manifold (1) as shown.

8. Install two bearings (12) with tool (A). Install the bearings with the joint 30 degrees ± 15 degrees toward outlet port (10) from the center line of the two bearings. Install the bearings to a depth of 1.50 ± 0.25 mm (.059 ± .010 in) below the surface.

9. Check the diameter of the bearings. The diameter of the bearings must be 31.786 ± .008 mm (1.2514 ± .0003 in) after installation.

10. Put O-ring seal (9) in position in body assembly (11).

11. If dowels (13) were removed from the body assembly, install the dowels in body assembly (11) until they extend 5.0 ± 0.5 mm (.20 ± .02 in) above the surface.

12. Put body assembly (11) in position on body assembly (7).

13. Install key (14) in gear assembly (5).

14. Put gears (15) and (16) in position on the gear assemblies.

15. Install seal (17) in cover assembly (18) with tool (A). Install the seal in the position shown until it is against the bottom of the counterbore. The lip of the seal must be toward the outside of the pump.

16. Install two bearings (19) in cover assembly (18) with tool (A). Install the bearing with the joint 30 degrees ± 15 degrees toward hole (21) from the center line of the two bearings. Install the bearing to a depth of 1.57 ± .25 mm (.062 ± .010 in) below the surface.

17. Put O-ring seal (20) in position on cover assembly (18).

18. Put cover assembly (18) in position on body assembly (11), and install bolts (23) and (24).
