NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS8904" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Guards were improved to prevent trash entry into the non- engine end frame on certain 834B and 836 Compactors as of January 1997. The 1421693 Kit provides the Parts Needed to update the current field population to the enhanced design.

Rework Procedure
Guard Group - Front (Reference 1421693 Kit)
1. Remove existing lock link brackets from top of hitch plate and grind smooth.
NOTE: The following applies only to 7FR machines only. For 92Z and 3RL machines, see PI3978.
2. Weld on new 1281660 Guard Support Angle Assembly per dimensions given in Illustration 1. (5 mm fillet weld - low hydrogen process, both sides).
3. Weld 1F0748 Nut to 1281664 Plate (resistance weld) then weld assembly to existing upper angles per dimensions given in Illustration 1. (5 mm fillet weld - low hydrogen process, both sides).
4. Assemble two of 1281659 Plate Assembly to 1288594 Plate with 5P1076 Washer and 5P2566 Bolt. Leave bolts finger tight until after welding. Position assembly in rear frame opening as shown in Illustration 1 and weld the two of 1281659 Plate Assembly to frame (5 mm fillet weld - low hydrogen process, both sides). Tighten the 5P2566 Bolts to 105 N·m.
5. Remove existing three position hose carrier plate assembly and clamp. Replace with new 1284085 Plate Assembly and 1284088 Clamp.
6. Assemble the 1284082 Channel Assembly and 1284083 Plate Assembly to 1281664 Plate using 5P1076 Washer and 5P2566 Bolt. Tighten to a torque of 105 N·m.
