Tools To Install Crankshaft Seal And Wear Sleeve

Usage:


1100, 3100, 3200, 3300, 5.4-6, 5.4-60°
V, D336-1676, D342, D334-1674, 3400 Engines

Improved tools are available to use for the installation of crankshaft seals and wear sleeves in all current models of the above engines. With these new tools, it is much easier to install these parts with no installation errors. Each series of engines needs different installation tools. Tools for the D336-1676, D342, D334-1674 Engines which are no longer current, are shown for reference only, and are the same as shown in Special Instruction Form SMHS6959. The new tools and the engine series they are to be used on are shown in the illustrations and charts that follow.

The tools that follow are needed for the respective bore sizes.

The engine tooling below will not change.

These new tools are not available as groups. Each tool must be ordered separately. Complete installation and application instructions are given in Special Instruction Form SMHS7100

NOTE: With the new tools and installation procedure, a new wear sleeve must be installed each time the seal is changed.
