Be Sure To Drain Oil In BrakeSaver At Every Lubricating Oil Change Period

Usage:

1693, 3406, 3408 Truck Engines

On 1693, 3406 and 3408 Engines equipped with a BrakeSaver, the lubricating oil in the BrakeSaver is not automatically drained when the lubricating oil in the oil pan is drained. It is necessary to drain the oil from the BrakeSaver separately. Failure to drain the oil from the BrakeSaver will cause the dirty oil in the BrakeSaver to mix with the new clean oil.

On 1693 Engines, drain the oil pan by removal of the 3B551 Plugs. Drain the BrakeSaver by removal of the 3J5390 Plug in the oil cooler bonnet. See illustration 1.

On 3406 and 3408 Engines, drain the oil pan by removal of the 6B5262 Plug. Drain the BrakeSaver by removal of the 6B5262 Plug in the BrakeSaver control valve. See illustration 2.
