Improved Coolant Seal For Connection Between Cylinder Heads

Description of Change: The method to seal the junction between the cylinder heads on the above engines has been improved. O-ring seals and a collar are used with the existing clamp to prevent coolant leakage. Formerly, leakage of coolant was possible as the engine became cool and compression of the seals decreased.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement as shown in the chart:
INSTALLATION: A different torque is now used to tighten the 9S8981 Clamp. When the new parts are installed, tighten the 9S8981 Clamp to 40 ± 5 lb in (4.5 ± 0.6 N·m).
