Clean Bolt Holes In Cylinder Block Before Cylinder Heads Are Installed
Usage:
3400 Series Engines in All Applications
Be sure to clean the bolt holes in the cylinder block before the cylinder head is installed. If water, oil or grease are in the holes when the bolts are installed, the fluid compression will cause stress in the bolt holes and can cause cracks in the cylinder block.
Use engine oil on the threads of the bolts for the cylinder head. Do not use a thread lubricant or thread sealant.
