New Seal For Crankshaft
Usage:
All 3304 and 3306 Industrial Engines
Description of Change: A double-lip seal of a different design is now used at the rear of the crankshaft on the above engines that have oil in the flywheel housing. The lips of the new seal are more flexible than those of the former seal. The new seal will give longer service life because the lips follow the shaft with less load.
Adaptable To: All 3300 Series Engines, when a 2P3858 Wear Sleeve is used on the crankshaft flange.
INSTALLATION: Before installation, put the same oil on the seal lips as that used in the engine.
NOTE: If this double lip seal is used with a flywheel housing that does not have oil in it, the outer lip will char (burn up) easily.
