Usage:
3306 Truck Engines
Description of Change: Two different types of vibration dampers have been used on the crankshafts of 3306 Truck Engines: A viscous (fluid) type and a rubber type. Later engines are equipped with either of two viscous type dampers, but earlier engines used a rubber type damper. In some applications, the service life of the rubber type damper was short. A viscous type damper is now used on these engines, and can be installed in place of the earlier rubber type damper. In conditions where there is a failure of the rubber type damper, install a viscous type damper for replacement.
Adaptable As: Direct replacement when the necessary parts are used together. For some installations, the crankshaft pulley must be changed. The parts chart shows the correct parts to use together.
