New Exhaust Manifold Shield Assemblies Provide Increased Heat Protection For Wastegate Area{1067}

Description of Change: New exhaust manifold shield assemblies (softwrap) are used in the exhaust manifold shield groups. These new manifold shield assemblies provide increased heat protection for the wastegate area. The use of the new manifold shield assemblies will result in increased wastegate rod end service life.

Adaptable To: The chart identifies the new and former exhaust manifold shield assemblies for each exhaust manifold shield group on the respective engine models. The new manifold shield assemblies are in effect as shown in the subtitle. The new manifold shield assemblies identified in the chart are compatible with the other components in the manifold shield groups.

NOTE: The 170-1068 Exhaust Manifold Shield Assembly is available to provide improved wastegate rod end heat protection to existing installations without replacing the manifold shield assemblies.
