Use Dust Cap To Prevent Freon Leakage From Air Conditioner; Cap Is Available As Replacement Part{7320}

Usage:

All Caterpillar Machines Equipped With Air Conditioners

The 5P2912 Compressor Fitting, used on all Caterpillar machines equipped with air conditioners, has a valve through which the air conditioner is charged with Freon.

Many parts books do not give a part number for the 2L1224 Cap (dust cap) used on the 5P2912 Compressor Fitting. It is Caterpillar's recommendation the dust cap be used.

The dust cap will not permit dirt to get in the valve, and it will prevent Freon leakage through the valve. The 2L1224 Cap is available as a replacement part.
