The valve groups used in the steering valve groups for the above models use one of three seat assemblies and 1J9671 Seal.

USE ONLY the 1J9671 Seal on any of the seat assemblies when a new seal or new seal and seat assembly are installed. Use of a larger seal can cause the steering to malfunction (not operate correctly).

A 1U2717, 4T317 or 7J8066 Seat Assembly is used in the valve group which is part of the steering valve group. The 7J8066 Seat Assembly is canceled, and either the 1U2717 or 4T317 Seat Assembly must be ordered as a replacement part. The Numerical Parts Record (NPR) will show specifically which seat assembly is to be used in which machine.

The grooves in the three seat assemblies look too large for use of the 1J9671 Seal.

But, the larger groove permits compression of the seal when the seat assembly is installed in the valve body. DO NOT use a larger seal on the seat assembly. Use of a larger seal will cause pieces of the seal to be cut off during installation of the seat assembly. The pieces of the seal can get into the seat and/or the relief valve and cause the steering to malfunction.
