Different Water Temperature Regulators Used In Water Lines Groups{1355}

Usage:

D8K ( 66V, 76V, 77V ),
D9H ( 90V ) Tractors;
583K ( 78V ),
594H ( 96V ) Pipelayers

Description of Change: Different water temperature regulators are used in the water lines groups on the above models. The new water temperature regulators open at a temperature of 80°C (175°F). The former regulators opened at a temperature of 74°C (165°F). The temperature at which the regulators open was increased to lower the amount of condensation in the cylinders. When a high sulfur fuel is used, condensation causes acid which increases the rate of wear on piston rings, cylinder liners and valve guides.

Adaptable As: The new 9N2894 Water Temperature Regulator is a direct replacement for the former 9S9160 Water Temperature Regulator. Two regulators are used per machine.

NOTICE

Do not use regulators with different opening temperatures in an engine. Make sure the two regulators are the same.
