Usage:
Start By:
a. Remove the steering cylinder. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Cylinder - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.
NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.
1. Put the steering cylinder in position on Tooling (A). The weight of the steering cylinder is 90 kg (198 lb).
2. Remove bolts (10) and the washers that hold head (9) to cylinder body (3). Use Tooling (A) to remove the rod and piston assembly from cylinder body (3).
3. Use Tooling (B) to remove nut (4) from rod assembly (11).
4. Remove piston (7) from rod assembly (11).
5. Remove wear ring (5) and seal assembly (6) from the piston.
6. Remove head (9) from the rod assembly.
7. Remove O-ring seal and backup ring (8) from head (9).
8. Remove three bolts (19) and the washers from head (9).
9. Remove lip seal (18), U-cup seal (17), seal assembly (16) and wear ring (15) from head (9).
10. Remove lip seals (1) and (13) from each side of cylinder body (3) and rod assembly (11).
11. Use Tooling (C) to remove bearings (2) and (12) from cylinder body (3) and rod assembly (11).
12. Remove relief valve (14) from cylinder body (3). Remove the seal assemblies from the relief valve. Note the position of the seal assemblies for assembly purposes.
