Usage:
NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. Check the condition of all O-ring seals. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
NOTE: Lubricate all parts with clean hydraulic oil during assembly.
1. Install O-ring seal (1) in body (2).
2. Put two O-ring seals on seat (5). Be sure the correct size seals are installed. Two different size seals are used. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals.
3. Install a 10-24 Machine Screw (6) in seat (5).
4. Install retainer (3), ball (4) and seat (5) in body (2).
5. Install plug (7) in body (2). Tighten the plug to a torque of 11 ± 2 N·m (98 ± 18 lb inch). Be sure the top of the plug is below the body mounting surface.
6. Install seals (9) and (10) in seat (8). Install seal (9) with the lip facing toward the outside of seat (8).
7. Install O-ring seal (11), seat (8) and retaining ring (12) in body (2).
8. Install springs (13) in spool (14). Be sure the curves of the springs are as shown. Start by installation of the two center springs that are next to (face) each other. Install the remainder of the springs, one spring at a time, inside the original two springs, complete with three springs for each side.
9. Put clean hydraulic oil on spool (14). Install sleeve (16) on spool (14). Twist sleeve (16) and spool (14) while the parts are put together. The spool must turn smoothly in the sleeve.
10. Engage the notches in sleeve (16) with the extended ends of centering springs (13). Install pin (15).
11. Put races (17) and thrust bearing (18) on sleeve (16).
12. Put a light coat of clean hydraulic oil on sleeve (16). Put the sleeve in body (2). Push sleeve (16) into place with a twist movement. Put sleeve (16) in position in body (2) so pin (15) is vertical to the port face of body (2).
13. Install new O-ring seals in body (23) and end cap (24).
14. Put clean hydraulic oil on star (22). Put star (22) into body (23).
15. Put drive (20) into position in housing (2). The slot in drive (20) must engage with pin (15).
16. Put plate (19) in position on housing (2).
NOTICE |
---|
Failure to follow this procedure will cause equipment damage. |
17. Put gerotor assembly-body (23) and start (22) in position on plate 919) and engage drive (20) with start (22). Be sure the center line of the drive slot is in alignment with the star valley, as shown.
18. Put spacer (21) in position in start (22).
19. Put end cap (24) in position on body (23).
20. Align the bolt holes and install the bolts.
21. Tighten bolts (25) in the order that is shown in the above illustration to the following torques:
a. First, tighten the bolts to a torque of 14 ± 3 N·m (125 ± 27 lb inch).
b. Tighten the bolts to a final torque of 28 ± 3 N·m (250 ± 27 lb inch).
End By:
a. Install the steering metering pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Metering Pump (Wheel Steer) - Install" for the machine that is being serviced
