Corrections To Service Manual Module, SENR5359, SR4B Generator Service Manual{4450}

Reference: Service Manual Module; SENR5359; SR4B Generator Service Manual; July 1995.

The NOTE on page 60 and page 61 reads the following: "For installation of the bearing, reverse the removal steps. Before installation, heat the bearing to 149°C (300°F)." This NOTE should be corrected to read "For installation of the bearing, reverse the removal steps. Before installation, heat the bearing to 107°C (225°F) using an induction heater or oven. Do not use an oil bath or any other method that causes a liquid to contact the bearing."

The NOTE on page 54 reads the following: "A specific alignment procedure is not required for generators which are soft mounted." This NOTE should be corrected to read "On 3400 and smaller generator sets a specific alignment procedure is not required when there are soft mounts between the engine and the base as well as between the generator and the base. All 3500 and larger generator sets must be aligned after final positioning in place, regardless of whether soft mounts are used or not. They should also be realigned if the engine or generator are removed from their mountings."
