Description of Change: A new rubber damper assembly is used on the 3400 Family of Commercial Engines. The new damper contains an improved rubber material. The improved rubber material provides the following:
-
- * Increased temperature resistance
- * 25 percent higher damping
- * Improved resistance to stiffening with time
- * Improved bonding
- * Increased temperature resistance
Adaptable To: The new 108-4096 Damper Assembly replaces the former 2P-5149, 4P-4297, 9Y-4851, and 108-4097 Damper Assemblies. The new damper assembly is in effect as listed in the chart.
NOTE: Do NOT use a rubber damper on engines originally equipped from the factory with a 2P-4645 or 7E-9520 Viscous Damper Assembly.
The damper assembly part number is approximately 3.0 mm (.12 in) high, STAMPED on the front or back of the outer ring.
