Installation Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the battery box

Note: Remove all protective shipping covers, flanges, plugs, caps, clamps, cable straps, and material. Retain the bolts, washers, clamps, flanges, and O-ring seals.

Note: Clean all mounting and contact surfaces free of wax, dirt, debris, paint, and grease. Chase all threaded holes with an appropriately sized tap.

Note: The mud guard is shipped assembled on the left-hand walkway. The right-hand walkway does not require the mud guard.

Note: The ladder assemblies are shipped unattached.

Personal injury or death can result from improper lifting or blocking.

When a hoist or jack is used to lift any part or component, stand clear of the area. Be sure the hoist or jack has the correct capacity to lift a component. Install blocks or stands before performance of any work under a heavy component.

Approximate weights of the components are shown. Clean all surfaces where parts are to be installed.

  1. Clean the mating surfaces on the bumper free of wax, dirt, debris, paint, and grease.

  2. Clean the mating surface of walkway assembly (1) free of wax, dirt, debris, paint, and grease.

  3. Position one ladder assembly (2) onto one walkway assembly (1). Install 2 plates (10), four bolts (9), four sleeves (8), 4 washers (7), and four locknuts (6).

  4. Use a suitable lifting device to position walkway and mud guard assembly (1) and ladder assembly (2) onto the chassis frame. The weight of walkway assembly (1) and ladder assembly (2) is approximately 75 kg (165 lb).

  5. Install four hard washers (3) and four bolts (4).

  6. Repeat Step 2 through Step 6 for the opposite side of the truck.

  7. Open cover assembly (8) on the control box. Install one plug button (5). Close cover assembly (8).
