Start By:

  1. Remove fuel transfer pump.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove bolts (1), bolts (2), and clamps (3).

  2. Remove bolt (4) and bracket (5).

  3. Remove bolts (6), bolts (7), flange (8), and adapter (9).

  4. Remove bolts (12), outlet elbow (11), tube assembly (10), and tube assembly (13).

  5. Remove bolts (16), bolts (15), engine oil pump (14), and the O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil pump (14) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal of engine oil pump (14).

    2. Apply Tooling (A) to the bore of tube assembly (13) and outlet elbow (11).
