Auxiliary Water Pump - Disassemble

Start By:
- Remove the auxiliary water pump.

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove bolts (5) and gear (4).
- Put an alignment mark across housing (1) and auxiliary water pump housing (3).
- Remove bolts (2). Separate housing (1) from water pump housing (3). Remove the O-ring seal from auxiliary water pump housing (3).

Illustration 2 g01205982 - Loosen bolt (6). Do not remove the bolt. Use a block and Tooling (B) in order to put tension on the impeller. Tap the center of the block in order to loosen impeller (8) on the shaft. Remove bolt (6) and washer (7).

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.
Spring force will be released when covers are removed.
Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
- Remove impeller (8).

- Remove seal (11).

Illustration 8 g01206088 - If necessary, use Tooling (A) and a suitable press in order to remove seal (14).
Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the O-ring seals.
