The monitoring system parameters can be accessed via the Cat ET service tool. Many of the parameters within the monitoring system can be tailored to suit the operation of the engine.

The engine start switch must be in the ON position and the engine must be running in order to maintain electrical functions and hydraulic functions. This procedure must be followed in order to prevent serious machine damage. |

Engine STOP (Shutdown) - Insert the engine start switch key only while the start switch is in the STOP position. Remove the engine start switch key only while the engine start switch is in the STOP position. Turn the engine start switch to the STOP position before you attempt to restart the engine. Turn the engine start switch to the STOP position in order to stop the engine. |
Engine ON - To activate the electrical circuits in the cab, turn the key clockwise to the ON position. |

Engine START - To start the engine, turn the key clockwise to the START position. After the engine starts, release the key. The key will return to the ON position. |
Note: If the engine fails to start, return the engine start switch key to the STOP position. Return the key to the START position before you attempt to start the engine again.

Engine Malfunction - This indicator illuminates when there is a fault with the engine or after treatment system. |
Engine STOP - This indicator will illuminate solid when a level 3 warning fault has been detected by the monitoring system. |
Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) - This indicator will illuminate in order to show that a regeneration is needed. |
Regeneration Active - This indicator will illuminate in order to show that a regeneration is active and exhaust temperatures are elevated. |
Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Level - This gauge shows the amount of DEF in the DEF tank. |
Emission Malfunction Indicator - This indicator will illuminate when an emissions system related to DEF or SCR has failed. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Selective Catalytic Reduction Warning System" for more information. |

Circuit Breaker (14) - Press the button in order to reset the circuit breaker if a circuit breaker trips. If the electrical system is working properly, the button will remain pressed. If the button does not remain pressed or if the circuit breaker trips soon after being reset, check the appropriate electrical circuit. Repair the electrical circuit, if necessary.
