Description of Change: A new speed/timing sensor is used on these truck engines. The new sensor has a green sliphead and a .25 mm (0.010 in) "divot" (recess) in the sliphead face. The new sensor sliphead design improves the sensor's gear contact capabilities.

Adaptable To: The new 129-6628 Speed/Timing Sensor is a direct replacement for the 127-1008 Speed/Timing Sensor in these applications. The new 129-6628 Speed/Timing Sensor is effective with 3176B (9CK28934), C-10 (2PN1), C-12 (1YN1), and 3406E (5EK70181).

NOTE: The installation of the new 129-6628 Speed/Timing Sensor on a 3406E Truck Engine still requires the use of a 126-8481 Washer. See the Reference Article . This washer is NOT to be used on any other engine. The installation of the new 129-6628 Speed/Timing Sensor on 3406E Truck Engines is the same as described in the Reference Article.
