Be sure the shunt line connection between the top of the radiator and the water pump inlet is correct. An incorrect shunt line connection can result in a lose of engine coolant and/or engine overheating. See the illustration. Be sure the shunt line is connected at either location (2), (3), or (4). Location (2) is preferred, but locations (3) and (4) are acceptable alternates. Location (4) is in the line between the radiator outlet and the inlet in the water pump cover. Be sure the shunt line is NOT connected at location (1). The use of location (1) may result in engine coolant loss and/or engine overheating.
(RIGHT SIDE VIEW OF ENGINE - TYPICAL WATER LINES GROUP) Coolant Outlet (A). Water Pump (B). Coolant Inlet (C). Oil Cooler (D). Locations (2), (3), and (4) are acceptable locations for the shunt line connection. Location (1) should NOT be used of the shunt line connection.
