124-5572 Air Pressure Relief Valve Available{1803}

Usage:

3406, 3406B, 3406C, And 3406E Truck Engines Equipped With Bendix Tu-Flo 550, 750, And 1400 Air Compressors

The 124-5572 Air Pressure Relief Valve is available to help prevent excessive air pressure from damaging the air compressor.

Condensation can cause moisture to accumulate in some air lines. In low ambient temperatures, this moisture can freeze and cause the air line to become blocked. If the normal air discharge line is blocked, the air compressor may be pumping against excessive air pressure. This can result in air compressor damage.

The 124-5572 Air Pressure Relief Valve is installed in the unused air discharge port on the air compressor cylinder head. See the illustration. If the normal air discharge line is blocked by frozen condensation, this air pressure relief valve will open at 1722 kPa (250 psi) to relieve the air pressure. This will help prevent compressor damage. The installation of a 124-5572 Air Pressure Relief Valve is especially applicable in low ambient temperature operating conditions.

Typical location to install 124-5572 Air Pressure Relief Valve.
