New Rear Power Take-Off (RPTO) Has 1.3:1 Ratio{1165}

Usage:

3176 (7LG4558-Up) 3176B (9CK) Truck Engines

Description of Change: The new 1.3:1 RPTO has a 30 percent increase in the shaft output speed compared with the 1:1 RPTO ratio. This will allow the customer to use a smaller, less expensive hydraulic pump.

To distinguish between 1.3:1 and the 1:1 RPTO's, check the following differences:

* The 1.3:1 RPTO does not use an external lube line.
* The 1.3:1 RPTO output shaft will rotate 1.3 time for each engine revolution.
* The 1.3:1 RPTO output shaft extends 106.06 mm (4.176 in) beyond the bearing carrier. The 1:1 RPTO output shaft extends 94.06 mm (3.703 in) beyond the bearing carrier.
* The 1.3:1 RPTO has a drilled and plugged port located behind the right engine support pad.
* A factory installed 1.3:1 RPTO uses a 6I-0886, change 01, Block. The part number and change number are located behind the oil filter on the right side of the block.

Adaptable To: The new 1.3:1 RPTO can be installed in place of the 1:1 RPTO by installing the new 109-5295 Flywheel Housing Group and the new 109-5298 Rear Gear Group. Illustrations 1 and 2 and Chart A identify the components in the new 109-5295 Flywheel Housing Group. Illustrations 3 and 4 and Chart B identify the components in the new 109-5298 Rear Gear Group.

NOTE: The new 109-5295 Flywheel Housing Group will require minor changes. For detailed information on the required changes, contact the Product Support Analyst at phone number (309) 578-6798.
