New Inlet And Exhaust Valves Have Thinner Heads{1105}

Usage:

3406C And 3408B Truck Engines

Description of Change: The maximum valve head thickness of the new exhaust valve and the new inlet valve has been reduced by 0.146 mm (.0057 in). The "use again" thickness for the valve lip remains the same. Refer to the Specifications module in the service manual. The reduced maximum head thickness is required for piston to valve clearance on the 3406C mechanical truck engine with the swirl combustion system (serial number prefix 8PN).

Adaptable To: The new 115-2367 Exhaust Valve is a direct replacement for the former 106-1111 Exhaust Valve. The new 115-2368 Inlet Valve is a direct replacement for the former 108-5902 Inlet Valve. The former valves are canceled. The new inlet and exhaust valves are effective with 3408B Truck Engines (28V04923) and 3406C Truck Engines (5KJ08083, 3ZJ60182, 8PN1).
