Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the auxiliary water pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Auxiliary Water Pump - Remove".

1. Remove bolts (7) and gear (6). Remove O-ring seal (5) .

2. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to the shaft of the auxiliary water pump. The weight of the auxiliary water pump is approximately 75 kg (165 lb).

3. Place the auxiliary water pump onto a bench. Mark housings (1), (2), and (3) for the correct orientation upon assembly.

4. Remove bolts (4) .

5. Separate housings (2) and (3) from housing (1) .

6. Remove O-ring seal (16) .

7. Remove bolt (14) and washer (15) .

8. Use Tooling (C) to remove impeller (8) .

9. Remove the spring from seal group (9) .

10. Separate housing (2) and housing (3) .

11. Remove O-ring seal (10) .

12. Remove bolts (19) and thrust washer (18) .

13. Remove shaft (17) .

14. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable press to remove seal group (9) from housing (2) .

15. Use a brass bar and a hammer to remove seal (11) from housing (3) .

16. Remove bearings (12) and bearings (13) from housing (3) .
