Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Remove the bolts that hold flange (2) and spacer (1) to engine oil pump (4). Remove spacer (1) .

- Remove flange (2) .
- Remove the bolts that hold tee (3) to engine oil pump (4). Remove the O-ring seal from tee (3) .
- Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to engine oil pump (4). The weight of engine oil pump (4) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb).
- Remove the bolts that hold engine oil pump (4) to the front housing.
- Install Tooling (B) in engine oil pump (4). Tighten Tooling (B) evenly and remove engine oil pump (4) .
- Remove the O-ring seals from the front housing.
- Remove the O-ring seal from the engine oil pump.
