NOTICE

  1. Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seals (7) in housing (4). Install the inside lip seal with the lip toward the inside. Install the outside lip seal with the lip toward the outside. Apply clean engine oil to the lips of the lip seals.

  1. Apply clean engine oil to rotor (6). Install rotor (6) in housing (4) .

  1. Apply clean engine oil to idler (5). Install idler (5) in rotor (6) .

  1. Install original shims (8) .

  1. Put idler (5) in position so that the shaft in head (3) will engage the idler. Align the marks on the head and housing (4). Install head (3) .

  1. Check the end clearance of the prelubrication oil pump. Measure the clearance between the back of the rotor and the machined surface at the housing base. Insert Tooling (B) through the port opening. The end clearance must be 0.013 to 0.076 mm (0.0005 to 0.0030 inch).

  1. If necessary, remove the head. Add or remove shims (8) in order to get the correct end clearance.

  1. Align the marks on air driven motor (1) or the electric motor and prelubrication oil pump (2). Engage the key on the motor shaft with the keyway in the prelubrication oil pump.

  1. Position the two units together. Install the bolts that hold the two units together.

End By: Install the prelubrication oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Prelubrication Oil Pump - Install".
