Installation Procedure

1. Put Tooling (A) and Tooling (B) in position for installation, and put camshaft bearing (1) in position for installation. Put camshaft bearing (1) in position with the joint at the top. Apply clean engine oil to the outside of the camshaft bearing. Tooling (A) is piloted into the bearing bores or into the cylinder block bores.

2. Connect Tooling (C) to Tooling (B) .

3. Move the camshaft bearing into position in the cylinder block. Camshaft bearing (1) is properly located when the groove that is around the outside is in the middle of the plugged hole. Refer to Specifications, "Camshaft Bearings" for the correct dimensions in order to install the camshaft bearings.

4. Before you install the rear camshaft bearing, align the hole in the camshaft bearing. This placement will allow camshaft timing pin (2) to be put into position in the camshaft.

5. Press the rear camshaft bearing into position.
